Are you looking for toys for specific places?
Whether they’re in the car, outside, indoors or in the tub, kids love playing with toys. Toys can make a parent’s life easier and they’re a great way to keep your child distracted during certain times such as if they hate bath time or get restless in the car.
Bathtime Toys
For bath time, with younger kids, you want to choose toys that can be filled up with water like cups or buckets. Nets can also be fun because they allow your child to capture other toys in the tub and this can be a fun game for him.
Bath time letters and numbers are also a good way to make bath time fun. These allow you to introduce basic language and math skills to your infant or toddler. Teaching them to recognize the names of each letter and number can be a great way to help their educational development.
Traveling Toys
If you’re traveling on a long road trip or just dashing up to the grocery store, toys for the car are a must for parents with small children. Hand puppets are a great toy for traveling.
They’ll give your child a chance to play pretend and if you have several puppets, more than one child can play at a time. For babies, hang a mobile above their car seat and stock up on a couple of rattles and a teether toy if your child is old enough.
For toddlers who get cranky on a road trip, try bringing along a teddy bear or doll to help soothe them. There are many toys made specifically for road trips – even miniature board games for older kids.
Outdoor Toys
Outdoor toys are a great way to help your child burn off excess energy. If your child is old enough, he or she will enjoy jumping on a trampoline, riding a tricycle, or pretending in a playhouse – especially if that playhouse is filled with fun accessories.
You can also use outdoor play as a way to introduce your child to sports. Toys like a basketball and hoop or a light bat and soft baseball teach young children hand to eye coordination as well as sportsmanship.
Children also love playing with water outside, so toys like sprinklers and water guns are usually a big hit. Also popular is sidewalk chalk, which kids can use to draw whatever they can imagine. Older children may enjoy playing on a swing set or slide.
Indoor Toys
Indoor toys are perfect for those days when the weather is stormy and kids can’t be out. This is a great time to give your child building block kits. Give them enough building blocks and watch your kids build cruise ships, shopping malls, and entire cities. You could also use this time to let your child have laptop style toys that introduce him to online learning games.
